At Wilson Primary School, we are committed to promoting active, healthy lifestyles through a comprehensive Health and Physical Education program aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum. Our approach ensures students develop essential skills in movement, teamwork, and decision-making, while gaining knowledge to make safe and healthy choices.
Health Education covers a wide range of topics, including protective behaviours, nutrition, personal safety, and emotional wellbeing. These lessons empower students to build resilience and develop strategies for maintaining health throughout their lives.
Physical Education (PE) provides opportunities for students to participate in structured skill development and competitive sports. Our program is strengthened through a partnership with SEDA, whose specialist coaches run regular sports sessions, introducing students to a variety of games and fitness activities.
We also have strong links with the Woodloes Association, supporting community engagement through sport. Students in Years 5 and 6 represent Wilson Primary School in Summer and Winter Lightning Carnivals, as well as Interschool Athletics and Cross Country events. Within the school, our annual Faction Athletics Carnival in Term 3 is a highlight, where students proudly compete for their totemic group, fostering teamwork and school spirit.
