At Wilson Primary School, our Visual Arts program is a celebration of creativity, imagination, and cultural expression. Students explore a wide range of artistic techniques and mediums, from painting and drawing to sculpture and mixed media, in a dynamic and supportive environment.
Our program is designed to inspire students to think critically, express themselves confidently, and connect with the world through art. It aligns with the Western Australian Curriculum, ensuring that every child develops essential skills in visual literacy, design principles, and creative problem-solving.
We believe art is for sharing! Our students regularly showcase their work at local events, including the Canning Districts Show, where creativity meets community spirit. These opportunities allow students to celebrate their achievements and engage with the wider community.
Through our Visual Arts program, we aim to nurture a lifelong love of creativity and empower students to see the world through an artistic lens

Ms Julie Canny leads our Visual Arts program with passion and expertise. As a dedicated specialist teacher, Ms Canny brings years of experience and a deep love for the arts into every classroom. Her approach encourages students to experiment, take creative risks, and discover their unique artistic voice. Under her guidance, students not only learn technical skills but also develop confidence and joy in self-expression.
