At Wilson Primary School, we believe the early years are a time of wonder, growth and discovery. Our Kindergarten and Early Childhood programs provide a nurturing, engaging environment where children feel safe, supported and inspired to learn.
Our teaching is play-based and intentional. Educators plan meaningful environments and experiences that engage children in investigation, creation, collaboration and communication, while purposefully extending skills such as problem-solving, early literacy, numeracy, and self-regulation.
Our Early Childhood area features a vibrant outdoor learning environment designed for exploration and active play. Children enjoy sandpits, climbing equipment and open spaces that encourage physical development, problem-solving and imaginative play.
Families are children’s first teachers. We work in strong partnership with parents and carers—sharing learning goals, listening to family insights, and celebrating progress together.
In the early years, children develop rapidly across social-emotional, language and communication, physical, and cognitive domains. Through well-designed play and intentional teaching, we foster dispositions for learning (e.g., curiosity, persistence and cooperation), early literacy and numeracy foundations, and a strong sense of identity and wellbeing.
Our Kindy program runs 2 days one week and 3 days the next, providing consistent opportunities for deep engagement in play, routines and projects while supporting children’s transition to the rhythms of school.
